Who this policy covers

This Privacy Policy applies to the Nexus Island Windows desktop application and the official Nexus Island website. In this policy, “Nexus Island,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the publisher of Nexus Island.

Nexus Island works with independently operated products, including OpenAI Codex and Anthropic Claude Code. Those products have their own privacy practices and are not controlled by Nexus Island.

Information processed by the desktop app

Nexus Island processes only the local information needed to identify supported agent events and display useful notifications. Depending on the connected tool, this may include:

• The agent name and event type.
• A local session or task identifier.
• The working folder or project label associated with a task.
• Notification text, questions, selectable option labels, completion state, or approval context supplied by the agent.
• Local window or task-link information used to return you to the relevant session.

To provide reliable notifications when a supported agent does not deliver a hook event, Nexus Island may read newly added records from that agent's local session or transcript files. It extracts only the event details needed to display the notification. Nexus Island does not upload those files, your prompts, or your source code to a Nexus Island server.

Local storage and system changes

Nexus Island may store the following on your device:

• App preferences, including sound, reminder, and startup settings.
• A randomly generated per-user token used to authenticate local events.
• Backups of supported notification settings so they can be repaired or restored.
• Limited diagnostic information when diagnostic logging is explicitly enabled.

The app may update supported Codex and Claude Code notification configuration and Windows notification settings to prevent duplicate alerts. Nexus Island's event receiver listens only on the local loopback address, 127.0.0.1, and requires the local per-user token.

Information we do not collect through the app

The current Nexus Island desktop app does not:

• Require or create a Nexus Island account.
• Send app analytics, advertising identifiers, or telemetry to Nexus Island.
• Upload your prompts, source code, session transcripts, local folder contents, or notification content to Nexus Island.
• Sell, rent, or share personal information for advertising.
• Use your work to train an artificial intelligence model.

Website and download information

When you visit the Nexus Island website, the hosting and network providers that deliver the site may automatically process ordinary request and security information, such as your IP address, browser and device type, requested pages, timestamps, and diagnostic or abuse-prevention records.

Nexus Island does not place advertising cookies or use the website to build behavioral advertising profiles. Essential storage or network data may be used by the hosting provider to operate, secure, and deliver the website. The website may link to Microsoft Store or other third-party services, whose privacy practices are governed by their own policies.

We use Vercel Web Analytics to understand aggregate website activity, including page views, popular pages, referrers, general location, device and browser categories, and Nexus Island download selections. Vercel Web Analytics does not use cookies and does not provide us with information that identifies an individual visitor. We do not include names, email addresses, prompts, source code, or notification content in analytics events.

Purposes and legal bases

We process information only as needed to:

• Provide, secure, troubleshoot, and improve Nexus Island.
• Display the agent notification or task link you requested.
• Maintain user preferences and prevent duplicate notifications.
• Operate and protect the website and comply with applicable law.

Where a legal basis is required, these activities rely on performance of the service you requested, our legitimate interests in operating and securing the service, compliance with legal obligations, or consent where applicable.

Disclosure and service providers

Because desktop processing remains local, Nexus Island does not receive app notification content to disclose. Website request data may be processed by infrastructure, hosting, security, and distribution providers acting to deliver and protect the site. Information may also be disclosed if required by law, to protect users and the service, or in connection with a business reorganization subject to applicable safeguards.

We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Retention and deletion

App preferences, the local authentication token, and integration backups remain on your device until they are removed through the app, deleted manually, or removed during uninstall or cleanup. Nexus Island does not keep a remote copy of your agent events.

Hosting and security providers may retain ordinary website logs for their operational, security, and legal requirements. Their retention periods are controlled by those providers.

Your privacy choices and rights

You can control your information by:

• Disconnecting supported agent integrations.
• Disabling startup, reminders, sounds, or diagnostic logging.
• Uninstalling Nexus Island and deleting its local application data.
• Managing Codex, Claude Code, Windows, and browser privacy settings directly in those products.

Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or an objection concerning personal information controlled by the publisher. Because the desktop app does not send agent-event information to us, that local information is normally available only on your device.

Security

Nexus Island uses reasonable technical safeguards appropriate to its local architecture, including a loopback-only event receiver, a randomly generated authentication token, bounded event payloads, and local configuration backups. No system can be guaranteed completely secure, and you remain responsible for securing your Windows account and connected agent tools.

Children's privacy

Nexus Island is a professional developer utility and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the desktop app. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the website, contact the publisher so the concern can be reviewed.

International processing

Website infrastructure providers may process ordinary request information in countries other than your own. Where required, appropriate contractual or legal safeguards are used by the relevant provider. Desktop agent-event processing remains on your Windows device.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when Nexus Island's functionality, data practices, providers, or legal obligations change. The revised policy will be posted on this page with an updated date. Material changes will be communicated through an appropriate product or Store notice where required.
